Hacienda Program
The Hacienda is a 12 unit HUD apartment complex devoted specifically to those dealing with chronic and persistent mental health issues. Each individual unit has its own bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room area. There is a common recreation area and laundry facility on site. The complex is considered independent housing but, is monitored by Case Managers and the Housing Coordinator.
The Hacienda is a transitional program which emphasizes empowerment and transition into more independent living. The staff Housing Coordinator tends to the administrative issues for the Hacienda and meets monthly with residents to facilitate a residents meeting. Residents frequently plan events within the Hacienda to develop a sense of community within the complex.
Residents are encouraged to participate in daily activities outside the Hacienda such as Sedona or Turning Point Day programs. Some residents also seek employment in the community or utilize the services of Vocational Rehabilitation.
The program is subsidized by HUD (Housing and Urban Development) and is sponsored by Seminole Behavioral Healthcare. The Hacienda is governed by its own independent Board of Directors.
